We have the results of the inaugural Red Deer Mayoral MFC Race! Yesterday (July 2), we received reports that Rachelle Sauvegeau’s apple juice infused MFC Unit had started blinking. Only 4 days after it was constructed on June 28, that unit is already generating 13 microwatts of electricity!
Mayor Johnston did not contest the result and very graciously “conceded” the race … a move rarely seen in political circles nowadays. What an amazing leader and a gentleman! We are all cheering on the MFC known as “Red Deer No. 1” to start blinking soon!
Congratulations to Ms. Sauvageau for winning the race. To commemorate the win, we will be presenting Ms. Sauvageau with a MFC kit plushie crocheted by the dynamic mother-son team of Annora and Riley. We also like to congratulate Mrs. Caroline Johnston for “betting” on the right winning “horse”.

Update on July 5: “Red Deer No. 1” started blinking on July 3. Although it took slightly longer, both MFCs started blinking after only 5 days after construction. Amazing results!
