We had a great time building the MFCs with the Grade 4/5s today. Similar to our introduction presentations, we held two separate sessions, however the fun stayed for both sessions. The students sat in their groups of 4 – 5 people and came up with creative team names. We handed out a questionnaire and many of the students passed with flying colours.
The students were assigned different tasks during the building of the MFCs. Most enjoyed playing with the mud and trying to get the perfect “soupy” texture. After we finished building, the students wanted to see their MFCs start producing electricity, however they will have to wait for a week or two before that happens.
