On March 17, Aaron volunteered at the 2024 Earth Science for Society exhibition (ESFS 2024) held at the University of Calgary. There were many hands-on activities at the exhibition, including a demonstration of non-newtonian fluids and research about space. Aaron was at the Ten Peaks Innovation Alliance booth, one of the sponsors of the MFC Olympics, demonstrating different ways that electricity can be produced. Of course, he was chatting with the attendees about Microbial Fuel Cell and showing the unit that Ramen Ungabunga Gorilla built last year. Many were surprised about this new method of generating electricity and were interested in participating in next year’s challenge.
We want to thank Ms. Dagmar Knutson and Mr. Gideon Choi for the opportunity to volunteer at their booth. They have some exciting summer camps including using robotics to address food insecurity.
